+1 814(my-number) will be an exclusive voicemail number. Here is the problem. I have domains, and every domain requires WHOIS records. I used to have my direct telephone number listed in the WHOIS records. I then had several scams for “web design services”. My number is on the US’s Do Not Call list, and as the name implies – it is Do Not Call. Anyone calling a number on the list for unsolicited business propositions will be violating US law, and I don’t do business with criminals.
Once I acquired a dedicated telephone number exclusively for voicemail, and dropped the infected number, I had 0 scam calls on my home or cellular phone. This means the voicemail setup works, and does exactly what I want it to do. Since these calls are scams, they will not leave a voicemail message. If there is a legitimate call, the caller will leave a message, and I can decide whether to respond or not.
