Home

412 is recognized as the area code for Allegheny County. This is pretty contained, and this makes sense to have the number being my Home phone line. This is because my 878 number will be the Cellular line. This process will take a week for everything to work, and transfer. The advantage of this is people still calling the 412 number will likely reach me still as I am usually home. When I am not home, the SIP provider will collect the voicemail.

Before the porting process, I will let everyone know that this number will become a home phone, and I will give them the Cellular number when it ports over. They will be able to call the 855 number which will accurately ring to the appropriate Cellular, and Home lines. Once that happens, I will turn on call forwarding to forward to my current home phone line. I will then start the porting process, and disable the SIM that is associated for the cellular line. This will immediately forward calls to my home phone until the port completes.

Obviously, calling the home phone will only be answered if I am home, and available. Once I move into the 4 Story Building, the home base for the WP825 will be my office, and I will be sleeping on another floor. I will not hear the WP825 ring at all. Once I come upstairs to the main space, I will pull my home phone off the charger, and it will stay with me in the great room, or transfer to the office when I need to get work done. Since this is a cordless phone, I am pretty flexible where it can go.
