In a perfect world, I will have one voicemail box for all of my numbers. However, this does not seem to be the case, nor do I know of any reliable workarounds that I can do that will benefit me. With that in mind, my Cell service will have its own voicemail box. The SIP numbers will use the telephony server’s voicemail system. This will mean that my forwarder number will always have a charge for incoming calls whether I answer the call, or it goes to the telephony server’s voicemail system. With that in mind, I will have 2 voicemail boxes which is about the best I can hope for.
As for the voicemail itself, all voicemail announcements will be the same, and will use my current announcement. The announcement is “You’ve reached Frank Pilone, leave a message“. This is intended to be simple and direct the point. By assuring that I will have a simple voicemail, it gives a clear instruction on what to do when you reach my voicemail. You also know who you’ve called which might be important especially since the person might have called the wrong number.
