The Apollo APF-500R definitely does not roll off the tongue, but it is a unique model number nonetheless. This is an alpha-numeric pager that would work with Pagers Direct service. The pager is simple, and a one way communications device. You call the number, and leave a page or if applicable – a voicemail. Once done, the pager will receive the message from the pager tower, and will make a loud screeching sound that would wake someone up which is what I would want to have done.
In my case, you call the 413 number which will forward to the pager number. The caller will hear my announcement, and leave a message. 5 minutes later the Apollo APF-500R would make its message receive notification. If it is a voicemail, then the pager number will be displayed on the screen. If it is a page, then the number I am to call back will be displayed on the pager. Unless I know the number, I will not return the call. This will emphasize that this number is a voicemail number.
