The Grandstream WP825 is my home phone, and will likely remain that for the foreseeable future. This phone uses my LAN’s Wifi capabilities to make an receive calls. This eliminates the need for Access Point that DECT phones will need. Since all modern networks will likely have a Wifi Network, using that network just makes sense. As with the cellular phones, the WP825 supports dual line, however, only one line will be needed. This is the current setup for the WP825, and therefore even if I was to get everything I would want, the only thing that would change is the Caller ID will show my Home number rather than any of the old telephone numbers that would be retired.
If there was to come a time that I would need another SIP provider, then the WP825 can support the second carrier as line 2, and only for incoming calls. All outgoing calls will show the line 1 service, and will use that carrier for the service. Since there is no need to have 2 SIP providers, there is only need for one line to be used.
