I would need to win a massive windfall of money to have this ideal phone setup. With that said, I will also look to having my own residence rather than renting. I would find my residence, gut the building, and renovate to my needs. While this is for another site, there will be some importance in relation to the acquisition of numbers. During the time of renovation, all new numbers I will acquire will use an announcement service. I will be choosing Number Barn’s Parking service for the announcement. The service will be $3/month for each of the associated numbers. The announcement will say “This telephone number has been relinquished to Frank Pilone. Please contact the previous owner through other means”. This announcement will be from the time of acquisition until I am ready to move in my new residence. The timeframe noted below will be from day of windfall acquisition.
Day 1
I will work with an arbitrator to negotiate the prices for acquisition of the numbers for me from the current owners. I would assume that the owners will not just give me the number because I ask for it. Instead, I would expect that I will have to pay thousands for the number. With me wishing to acquire 2 different numbers, it would be a significant cost to acquire everything.
Once I acquire a number, I will immediately port the telephone number to Number Barn. I will have to pay a $5 fee for porting the number in, but I want something that would just provide for an announcement. There will be no option to leave a voicemail as that is a completely different service. The numbers will remain with Number Barn until I move in to my new residence.
Week 2
I already have ideas of the places I would want if I had a windfall of money. Assuming those places will still be on market, I will acquire at least one of them in full for cash without the need for a mortgage. The only condition is that I have a structure inspection to make sure the building is structurally sound. I will not care so much about faulty plumbing, eleectrical, or HVAC since the building will be gutted, and renovated. All new everything will be in place.
For now, the 412 number will remain as my cellular number – however, this will change as time goes on. When I am ready to make the change, I will set the number to forward to the temporary home number. Once that happens, it would continue to allow me to receive Home phone calls until the port takes place fully.
Month 4
Now that the residence has been renovated, I will put into use of the phone numbers. I will port my 412 number to my home phone line, and pay for the second line to temporary support for the 878 number. In the meantime, the 412 number will forward to my current home phone number – therefore sending calls to 412 to my WP825 Once the 412 number ports, it would cancel that particular line automatically. I will assume that this process will take a few weeks since a Landline/VOIP service will be involved in both numbers. As for the 724 number, it will be set up with the Telephony Server, and designed to intercept faxes, and send them to me. Again, this will involve a VOIP service, so porting will take long. The Cellular phone will be changed to the 878 number, and that would take a few weeks considering that a Terrestrial provider is involved.
Month 5
I will have one contact card. This card will meet the needs for anyone that would wish to reach out to me. The telephone numbers that would be on the contact card will be my Cellular, and Voicemail numbers.
