Fax

+1 724(my-number) will be my fax line. This will require that the printer will be connected to the ATA (Analog Telephone Adapter) via the telephone line, and an ethernet line will then plug into the LAN for connection with FOIP (Fax Over Internet Protocol) resources. The carrier that will handle about half of the lines including the fax line will allow for multiple sub-accounts. This will allow me to create a sub-account exclusively for the fax. The Caller ID for this account will be my 724 telephone number as noted above.

Incoming faxes will be collected by the SIP provider. They will convert the incoming fax into a .pdf file, and then email it to my address. I can then choose to view the .pdf file, and decide if I should wish to print the fax out. This will be a saving feature since I am not printing faxes that don’t warrant the need to be printed. Outgoing faxes however will require a physical fax to send. Next to the printer, I will have cover sheets that I could handwrite any notations into them. The fax will then be sent through the carrier’s network, and to the destination. Since I will be using a sub-account for the fax, the 724 number will be displayed in the Caller ID system.
