My current 855 number is my Forwarder number. 855 numbers are considered as local to the caller no matter where in the NANP they call from. However, I will be responsible for any incoming rates. This is based on the “Area Code”. A 202 number will be 2¢ per minute whereas a 907 number is 24¢ per minute. However, I will accept all such calls, and if I feel a need to, I will call the caller back to offset the incoming rates that I would have to pay.
The 855 number will forward callers to two devices. This is intended to allow me to answer the phone no matter where I am. The telephone number will ring to both the iPhone, and the WP825. If I should choose to not answer the call, my telephony server will collect the voicemail message, and make it known to me through the WP825 voicemail indicator light. Since I already have this telephone number, there will be no need to acquire it.
